"The structure of this Great Western sourced Shiraz follows previous years, but the fruit shows slightly more opulence and density. The colour is so deep and dark. The nose has a peppery, chalky minerality with spices and perfumed blue fruits. There is awesome power in the palate with a dense and concentrated profile of dark and smoothly plush blackberry fruits, some black olive, dark chocolate and a liberal dusting of spices. A little cordite on the finish and there you have it, another masterpiece from one of the great vineyards." - Ray Jordan

 

"The perfume is so beautiful; so fragrant, spicy, floral, alpine herbs in the mix, peppery and red fruited. Intoxicating. It invites you in, again and again. This scent! Far out. Then the wine stains the palate beautifully, silky in texture too, impossibly long in flavour, spicy, once more, red fruited, yes, more of that, a touch of that alpine herb and some truffle through the finish. Power yet pinosity? Maybe/sure. The wine feels very succulent, tannins come with a sense of finesse, fine and lightly grainy, tucking things in, drawing things long. It’s a stunning wine.
