“Gee this is a good St Peters. Blackberry, chocolate, spice and pepper, aniseed perfume almost to liquorice richness, cedar and lavender. Medium bodied, but so dense and deeply fruited – chewy and backwards as a young wine – positively rippling with graphite tannin, and in spite of all that, it still has a succulence that shines through. There’s a clear sense of ‘minerality’ here, judicious high quality oak in support, even and unobtrusive acidity, and superb length with inky tannin carrying it long. Pretty certain this will come to be regarded as a ‘classic’ in time. Wait for the potential 96 or 97 points… ”
