"Mount Ida is located in the legendary Shiraz growing region of Heathcote, Central Victoria. First planted in the mid 1970s, the Mount Ida Vineyards were decimated by the Ash Wednesday bush fires in 1983. The vines took 3 years to fully recover and resume producing the extraordinary Shiraz that the Heathcote region is celebrated for. Traditional winemaking techniques, when applied to this dry-grown fruit, produces the intense blend of ripe fruit and black pepper flavours that Mount Ida Shiraz is renowned for. This 2005 Seppelt Mount Ida Heathcote Shiraz is an intense and rich wine that will develop with age, rewarding up to ten years of careful cellaring."
