[SOLD-OUT] Seppelt Great Western Shiraz 1984

The Seppelt Great Western Hermitage is the finest Shiraz produced by the House of Seppelt from the Great Western Region. During its 137-year history, the Great Western area in western Victoria has developed a passionate relationship with Shiraz. The ancient low-yielding soils and mild, dry climate produces wines of elegance, concentration and complex flavour profile. Due to its quality and cellaring potential the decision was made to hold back a portion of the 1984 Seppelt Great Western Shiraz for release as a fully mature wine. Old & Rare Wines has managed to secure a sizeable quantity of this wine, which is drinking extremely well now but could easily last a few more years. IDEAL FOR UPCOMING 21st BIRTHDAY GIFTS! Matured in new French oak hogsheads for 15 months. Light brick-red with aged amber edges. Underlying varietal aromas of spicy, red berry fruit combine seamlessly with aged leather and earth characters. The palate is medium bodied and retains a core of vibrant, red berry fruit surrounded by fine-grained tannins. The extended bottle maturation has long integrated oak characters and the quality of the vintage is ample, demonstrated by the extremely long finish, revealing further layers of complexity and savoury aged characters. Alc/Vol: 12.5% Notes sourced from Seppelt
