"Cherry, plum, new leather and thyme, a little smokiness, and some vanilla. Medium-bodied, cherry and red fruits, savoury and firm, plenty of dried herb stuff, some toasty oak, though not overt, and a fresh and saline finish of good length. Meaty and slightly tangy." - Gary Walsh, Wine Front
"Agricola San Felice lies in the commune of Castelnuovo Berardenga, at an altitude of about 400 metres, in the southern portion of the Chianti Classico district. It encompasses some 650 hectares, of which 140 are in high-quality vineyards, and boasts about 17,000 olive trees. The secret of its terroir consists in the perfect combination of local climate and soils —in their case with abundant rock— and favourable temperature variations between day and night, that create conditions that ensure the production of wines that are truly incomparable.
Made only from the finest Sangiovese grapes carefully selected from the estate Chianti Classico vineyards, this Riserva represents the perfect blend of the traditional and the modern. It spends some 24 months in oak, with about 20% in small barriques, and one year in the bottle. The front label bears Titian’s famous portrait of a medieval knight in armour." - Enoteca Sileno
