A great Balmoral with a heady, opulent perfume of violets and piercing aromas of frsh crushed blackberries against a background of sweet smoky vanilla oak. Its palate offers layers of explosively intense dark berry and plum fruit, nutmeg and cloves, matched carefully with chocolate oak and tight-knit velvet tannins. Depiste its density and richness it contains poise and elegance, leaving a lingering impression of fine plain chocolate and cassis. From old, low-yielding McLaren Vale vineyards, it spent two years in 100% new American cooperage.
