"It's much fuller than I was expecting. It's sweet, curvaceous even, with mocha, toast and vanilla making the front running before blackberry, grenache-like raspberry, straggly herbs and pepper notes assert control. You wouldn't necessarily pick it as from a cool, wet vintage; it tastes like a Rockford Basket Press Shiraz, first and foremost, though an elegant version thereof. Fine tannin, also, has been beautifully massaged into the wine, so much so that it's a highlight."
