"The 2009 Barolo Marcenasco shows sweet fruit flavors of black cherry and cassis set against darker tones of black licorice, tar and cola. Definitely on the "modern" side of the winemaking spectrum, with distant notes of mocha and espresso to fatten up its aromatic bouquet, the wine shows excellent harmony and overall balance. The sweet tannins, and fleshy fruit consistency suggest this wine is almost ready to drink. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2022.
