"It's a sinewy, guttural expression here. The season may have given some washiness to flavour, but the tannins crawl through the wine with earthy, elemental grunt. It smells of wild berries on briar, game meat, crushed rocks. Flavours and textue feel savoury, dark, tinged with herbs, sappy. There's a touch of evenness missing in the wine, but it's almost better for it with that powdery tannin chew. To savour."
