[SOLD-OUT] Ravensworth Estate Sangiovese 2015

Processed as whole berries, so no pumps used, a natural ferment that wasn't messed around with too much and then left on-skins for three weeks. matured in 1000l Italian coopered, French oak cask.

 

Note that this is a new line and our first estate only sangiovese. The 2015 vintage as such a cracker that we thought this fruit was something special and should be celebrated. More intense and concentrated that our regional blend.

“Geez this is good drinking. No doubt that it’s sangiovese with its perky, cranberry-like acidity and slender rails of very fine, firm tannin set amongst the medium weight red berry and briary fruit character. Scents of crushed nut husks, black pepper, red berries, earth. Tight and chompy in the mouth with succulent fruit and amaro-like sour-sweet-herb-spice feel here. Finishes long, mouthwatering, spicy. Unreal.”
