"Prunotto's Nebbiolo d'Alba wine originates from the Occhetti vineyard in Monteu Roero, across the Tanaro river in Piedmont, northern Italy.
In 2007 the region experienced an unusually mild winter meaning the vines began developing earlier than expected. A warm summer, followed by some rain in August meant perfect ripening conditions for the sugars, acid and polyphenolic components of the grapes. These conditions however did result in lower quantities being harvested by late September. This results in a wine with intense ruby red colour, a bright, youthful nose of raspberries and rose, and a palate harmonic and with a lingering finish.
It is a perfect match for hot antipasti, first courses and light meat dishes."
