[SOLD-OUT] Prophet's Rock Pinot Noir 2019

VINOUS 95 POINTS!

"The 2019 Pinot Noir Home Vineyard should rename itself Seduction. If it took you on a dinner date, you'd be utterly charmed by its floral fragrance, seamlessness and sense of honed power. And you’d go on a second date. Forgive me here, but on first sniff, it reminds me of a wild-fermented Riesling with its floral and talc-like nose (it is a natural ferment). Bringing up the rear is delectably pure fruit reminiscent of red cherries and blackberries. Despite spending close to a year-and-a-half in French oak barrels, the purity of fruit is the star here. The handling of the naturally robust tannins in the Bendigo subregion is impeccable: plunged just once per fermentation, the tannins provide the entire mouth with a reassuring embrace. Very more-ish, and while gorgeous now, it has a long life ahead. This just might be the best Prophet's Rock Home Vineyard Pinot yet." - Rebecca Gibb, Vinous

"The 2019 growing season signalled a return to more normal transmission after the very early 2018 harvest. A stable summer and long autumn allowed full ripeness but with a marked freshness to the wines. The Home Vineyard is an interesting site that shows a marked reflection of the growing season in the fruit profile of the finished wine. Some seasons show more reds fruits, some darker fruits, always florals, but in 2019 the ferments showed a lovely combination of both red and black fruits, typified by a boysenberry character to the young wines. There’s a lovely purity to the wine and the structure for extended cellaring, expect a lovely drinking window really hitting its straps 10 years from harvest." - Prophet's Rock
