"There's more sweet oak than I'm used to seeing in this wine, but it's a wonderful effort - long and luxuriant, beautifully textured and complete. Dusty and lightly meaty/musky/animal aromas from amarone fruit add character to the ripe scents of red berries, prunes and chocolate/vanilla oak. The palate bursts with small berry fruit which harmoniously integrates with sweet oak and taut, fine-grained tannins. Long and savoury, it has a very long future. (18.8, Drink 2011+)"
