This Vosne-Romanee Villages has a perfumed bouquet with redcurrant and cranberry fruit, touches of violet coming forth through the red berried fruit. Bright on entry, the palate has weight and the texture is velvety. Freshness marks the palate, which is a sensual and refined one, extremely pure with not a hair out of place on the finish. Absolutely delicious.
This prodigy is the son of Marc Colin, the esteemed white Burgundy maker. In 2005 he set out on his own and became a force to be reckoned with. His production is composed of 92% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Noir and 3% Aligoté grape variety making this a rare red wine from this producer.
It hails from the famed Vosne-Romanee village, the historical heart of Burgundy. Pierre-Yves makes the wines with a meticulous process designed to allow a pure expression of the grape to shine. From the choice of barrel to the choice of cork, no expense or effort is spared in his pursuit of perfection.
