“A very rapid fire but spirited tasting with the delightful Philippa Farr today. There’s two wines on offer, this one from a Gippsland site tha has been in Philippa Farr’s hands for the past three years; it’s a 20-year-old vineyard. Her aim is highlighting region and regionality between Gippsland and Mornington Peninsula with her wines. “Trying to make subtle expressions from each place, delicate pinot with layers”, she explains.

Red cherry, faint smoke, touch of herbal detail, rose petal too – a lovely perfume with savouriness to the fore. Light and delicate in the palate too, cherry pip and pomegranate, gentle spice, mouthwatering and fresh. It’s ultra fine, lacy and pretty, but has an assertive feel too. This is high class stuff here. I wanted more.”
