"Meaty, earthy and rather evolved, with a leathery bouquet of spicy and slightly stewed plum and redcurrant fruit over fresh cedar/vanilla oak. Framed by fine, drying tannins, its initial impact of juicy dark plum, cassis and blackberry flavour becomes more supple and savoury towards the lingering finish of aniseed and dark fruit. A worthy wine from this difficult vintage, with pleasing balance and elegance. Drink 2013-2021."
