"Very polished and composed, this dark, meaty and leathery, if rather more savoury and spicy expression of Barossa shiraz has a heady bouquet of dark, briary and confiture-like berries and plums back by sweet mocha/chocolate oak and cigarboxy, marzipan-like undertones. It's very smooth, fine-grained and deeply flavoured, with sumptuous, if slightly raisined fruit supported by a velvet-like structure of genuine firmness."

"Dark berries, plum and dark chocolate swathed in lots of aniseed and clove spiced French oak. It's fairly sullen at first and then with a bit of air.. ..pow! bam! and we're off and sliding down the pole into the Bat Cave ready for action (and you should see me scurrying along in my Batman costume, stomach sucked in, chest puffed out - just like Adam West). Medium to full bodied with smooth fine grained mouth-coating tannin, balanced acidity and a mix of concentrated ripe dark berry and cherries with toasty/clove/coal/dark chocolate savouriness coming from oak (mainly). Spicy and long on the finish. It's oaky but really good. The more time you give it, the more you'll probably like it."
