"Lots of purple remaining in this deep crimson colour, the bouquet shows toasty-oak laced dark berries, with a layer of very dark chocolate. It's very full-bodied and firm, rich and dense with masses of tannins providing formidable structure. A powerhouse of a cabernet. Long-term. (85% cabernet sauvignon, 15% merlot. Matured for 20 months in new French oak barrels). 96 Points." - Huon Hooke
"An impressive Coonawarra Claret style. Medium bodied with outstanding complexity, richness of flavour and vigour" - Andrew Caillard
"Dark fruited, woody and nutty, choc-liquorice and salted plums, dark berries with cinnamon and clove liberally dusted over. It’s a heady, medium weight style with a sheath of gummy-sooty-cedary tannins woven over that sluice of drying fruit and spice character. Feels a bit baked and breathy for a prestigious wine at six years old, the finish a little brittle with tart, lemony tang too. Feels almost like it gets there, but either drink now, or in twenty years in full benign decay, I reckon." - Mike Bennie, The Wine Front
