"Penfolds' flagship dry white is the 2003 Chardonnay Yattarna. While early vintages of this cuvee could be too oaky (the wine sees about 55% new French oak), that component is now nicely blended with aromas of apple jam, a smoky nuttiness, and hints of honeyed grapefruit as well as marmalade. Rich, medium to full-bodied, and impressively endowed, it should be enjoyed over the next 2-3 years."

"Fine and elegant, this supple and sappy chardonnay is all about delicacy, balance and suppleness. Its floral fragrance of restrained melon and citrus fruit reveals mealy, almost cheesy undertones, with undertones of smoky, minerally lees-derived complexity. Smooth and savoury, it's long and fine-grained, with an intense sweet spot of lime, lemon and cumquat flavour right in the middle of its lingering palate. Drink 2008-2011."

Huon Hooke 96 points!" A typically restrained Yattarna style, with lovely creamy nougat aromas, toasted hazelnuts, turning to lemon and grapefruit in the mouth. The texture is clean, dry, refined and seamless. A great chardonnay which oozes class."
