Jeremy Oliver 95 points! 'A richer, plumper and more concentrated RWT which manages to retain its customary elegance and charm. Its sweet, heady bouquet of violets, jujube-like blueberries, blackberries and cassis is backed by cedar/chocolate vanilla oak, while its luscious, silky-smooth palate of fine length and full to medium weight reveals a full spectrum of ripe and just slightly meaty and raisined fruits. There's plenty of richness, weight and presence, with a lingering impression of juicy flavour and harmony.' Jeremy Oliver, 2009-Gary Walsh 96 points! 'Musky and full of blackberry and plum with toasty dark chocolate and vanilla oak - typically RWT (silly name) with the oak being less overt and better taken up than in previous vintages. It's tight but smooth and remarkably fresh and lithe for such a big strong wine and there's an attractive savouriness in the flavour profile too - bitter chocolate and olives if you were looking for specifics. The structure and intensity vibrates long after swallowing. Needs plenty of time but it's pretty impressive stuff - and so it should be considering the price.' Gary Walsh, Winefront, May 2009Wine Advocate 95 points! 'The 2006 RWT Shiraz was aged for 14 months in 70% new French oak hogsheads. The winery describes its style as opulent and fleshy compared to Grange's muscular and assertive personality. Opaque purple in color, it offers aromas of Asian spices, beef juice, toast, blueberry, and licorice. Rich, fleshy, and round, it has plenty of underlying tannin, impeccable balance, and a long, pure finish. It will deliver prime drinking from 2014 to 2030.
