Sourced from Blocks 1, 2 & 3 of the 5.2 hectare Magill Estate Vineyard (just 8 kms from the Adelaide Town Hall), the grapes are fermented in open fermenters, basket pressed, partially barrel fermented and matured only metres from the vines. "This vintage release of the 2005 PENFOLDS Magill Estate Shiraz is reminiscent of the 1994, albeit the vines of this monopole are more than 10 years older. A deep, dark-red sheen/gloss in the glass, the nose is distinctive and defined. This wine's palate is focussed and true to the Magill Estate style in terms of flavours and texture.
