'The 2004 Shiraz 'Magill Estate' is a single vineyard offering which spent 13 months in French and American oak, 90% new. It delivers a splendid nose of smoke, pencil lead, violets, blueberry, and blackberry. Supple textured and seamless, it has loads of flavor, terrific depth, and a long, pure finish. Allow 3-4 years for the wine to unfold and drink it through 2024. Penfolds, arguably Australia's most famous winery, continues to perform at a high level under the leadership of Head Winemaker, Peter Gago.'
