Like the other 1999 Penfolds reds, this wine had been bottled before the Rosemount take-over. So its unusual and distinctively sweet and creamy palate of bright ju-jube-like cherry and berry fruit has nothing to do with Rosemount winemaking, but is a direct 1999 vintage phenomenon. Bin 128 is an attractive, intensely fruity, generous and soft shiraz with overt cedary/chocolate oak and slightly sappy fine tannins.
