"The newest addition to the Ottelia family is the 2019 Graciano. Sourced from Padthaway, it is a Spanish variety most well known for its use as a blending component in Rioja. Although uncommon as a single varietal, the wine is gaining more popularity in Australia. Our rendition is medium bodied and bright, filled with juicy red cherry notes and a savoury spice on the finish. A great companion to food. Don't be afraid to serve it lightly chilled on a hot night.

 Fresh scented herbal notes and subtle fennel mingle with pot pourri and cedar. Medium bodied with a luscious palate richness. Bright sour cherry and rhubarb complimented by the warm spices of Pfeffernuse biscuits and gentle dusty tannins. Vibrant and morish, an exciting drop for any wine lover." - Ottelia

 

"Graciano traditionally plays second fiddle in Spanish Rioja adding fragrance, acid and spice to the rustic tempranillo and garnacha. This is a delicious introduction to the variety in an easy-drinking bistro red style. It does not want to be taken too seriously and is made with the table in mind, or as a lightly chilled red on a hot night.

There is good colour matched by bright and very pure red cherry and violet fruits which are lifted by touches of spice, tobacco and baked earth. It is a mid-weight and supple red with light tannins and a slight acid bite but also has enough fruit power to match up with pink lamb chops. But if you want to go all out, enjoy it lightly chilled with ham croquettes." - Wine Pilot
