"A fair bit of smoky struck match stuff, but carries some citrus and white peach flavour, gentle spiced biscuit oak, and maybe some fennel. Flows along with a fine cool feel, a little strike of flint to texture, a lime rind and citrus tang, green apple tingle, and a pretty long limey finish. Excellent." - Wine Front

 

"Nose: An intriguing and complex nose. Citrus characters dominated by lime, with a touch of lemon blossom, complimented by subtle notes of gun smoke, flint and fresh brioche.

Palate: Continuation of citrus elements. Lemon juice and candied zest, follow into wet stone minerality with a nuance of almond.

The 2019 Chardonnay is sourced from the Ellis family vineyards in the Mount Gambier GI, south west of Mount Gambier. The fruit selected is from the Burgundian clone, Bernard 96 which was planted in 2004. The juice was cold settled and racked. 1/3 of the juice was transferred to new French oak Puncheons and underwent a wild ferment followed by malolactic fermentation." - Ottelia
