"The masters of Chardonnay are at it again, Henk is fast becoming one of the icons of the Yarra Valley. As always the interplay between fruit and winemaker influence is a compelling back and forth with white peach, taut nectarine and grapefruit meeting struck flint and almond meal on the nose. The palate has generous stone fruits set against a backdrop of citrus and restrained grapefruit, a weave of spice and mealy richness builds before green apple and peach give contrast. "Sourced frim a north-facing vineyard, sited in the red volcanic soils in Woori Yallock, and named after its owner, Henk. A warm, wet spring following a dry summer/autumn period has delivered good crops in near-perfect harvesting conditions. A traditional winemaking approach was used to produce this wine - handpicking and whole bunch pressing directly to 500 litre French oak puncheons for natural fermentation followed by a 10 month maturation on lees." - Oakridge
