Bob Campbell 96 Points!
Bob Campbell 96 Points!"Dense, ripe Pinot Noir with a velvet texture and layer soft red berry and spice flavours. Very impressive wine that's seductively accessible now but will age well."
Bob Campbell, Gourmet Traveller Wine
Established in 1993, Muddy Water has some of the oldest Pinot vines in the area. Danny Schuster planted vines in 1989. The estate has just been purchased by Greystone. All the wines are made from 100% estate grown, certified organic fruit from Waipara.
The 2009 Slow Hand Pinot Noir is a single vineyard wine only produced in exceptional years. Ruby in color, it is a little closed on the nose, offering subtle earthy aromas over a core of black raspberries, game, Indian spices, damp loam and tar. Medium bodied with a good amount of mid-palate fruit, it is well structured with medium-firm fine-grained tannins and crisp acid. The finish is long with layers of black fruits coming through. Approachable now, it should drink best 2012 to 2017.
