"Deep red/purple colour. A very aromatic bouquet with a wide range of spice notes including pepper, clove and five-spice as well as floral hints. The palate is medium-bodied and intense, refined and understated, with great poise, a refreshing acid line and very fine-grained, subtle tannins. Long aftertaste and an outstanding array of bright, youthful flavours. Elegance and fragrance are the hallmarks of this new wine from the Langi vineyard. "

"Talus, for a rock formation under a cliff edge. Ya see! A new wine from Mount Langi. The idea was here to showcase more of the Langi estate. “There’s so much good stuff on the property. This is made up of a big spectrum of blocks, all higher quality stuff”, says freshly-minted chief winemaker Adam Louder (though he’s worked at Langi for a good spell). About 30% new oak, about 30% whole bunch, some carbonic, some destemmed, some foot stomping, some pump overs. Lots going on.
Medium weight, elegant, cinched with fine coils of grapey tannin, stretches long but tight through the palate. A very shapely, finely woven wine with deep concentration, freshness, structure and restraint on hand. It feels like a wine for now and for the future. Beautiful flavours and aromas of dark berries, fennel, pepper, faint eucalyptus. So succulent, and generally with a sense of deliciousness on hand. Off the mark quickly; so definitively ‘Langi’. Move quick if you’re into this kind of wine."
