Nick Stock 97 points!"Things have changed gear with the arrival of the 2010 vintage at Langi: there's more elegance, finesse, complex whole bunch-driven character and excitement in the wine. Fragrant red fruits, cherries and berries, lifted perfume and meaty complexity: charcuterie, cassia bark, anise and hints of fennel. The palate's bright red berries and cherries are laced with pepper and framed in toasty fresh oak flavour, some mocha, deep-seated baking spices and impressive freshness as it lifts through the finish; final notes of graphite and dark minerals. This is a spectacular wine in the making."

Campbell Mattinson 95 points!"The style (and price) of Langi shiraz has altered quite markedly in recent times. It now has its alcohol in check and has 80 percent whole bunches in the winemaking mix. The style changes won't be to everyone's liking but personally, I'm all in favour.
This set me back on my heels. I love it " though I'd be the first to note its polarising personality. Light in colour, medium-weight in fruit, and then piled with stalky, sappy, peppery character. Have they gone too far with the stalks? Probably, but I still love it. It's sinewy and lengthy, smoky and ashen. There's a push of cherried fruit beneath, but it's second fiddle to the savoury mass. Exquisite, tight, coiled tannin. Daring wine. Uncompromised."

Gourmet Traveller 97 points!"This is a masterpiece of elegance. Very complex spice, pepper and violet high notes combined with chacuterie. Oak is noticeably missing: the fruit does all the talking. Clean as a whistle and very long."
Huon Hooke, GT Wine April/May 2013.
"Fresh cherry and blueberry, perfume, hazelnut, pleasantly stalky seasoning, aniseed and a riot of spice. Medium bodied, fresh and clearly defined " well mannered and manicured " but with enough stalky grip and edge to bring home the bacon. And perhaps a little funk. Sappy and on the cusp of a bridge too far, yet the spice and purity of fruit pull it over the line. It's long too. With the perfume, the spice, the lightness of touch and the freshness, it's easy to see why it's a Modern Australian Wine Show Darling."
