"Good value is increasingly scarce in pinot noir but this is a delightful lighter bodied wine. St Matthias is in the Tamar Valley.

The medium-light colour prepares us for a lighter and typically fragrant wine. It has a fresh bouquet with a strong whole-bunch component giving a Campari/spiced fruit pudding character. A light bodied, pretty pinot noir—fresh and charming and easy to enjoy young, with restrained tannins and easy balance." - Huon Hooke

 

"Juicy and bright, with plenty of leafy redcurrants and red cherries up front, before a surprisingly long (and sweetening) finish. A fresh, highly approachable red that’ll reward drinking in the next couple of years.

As part of an ongoing push to let the combined blocks of Pinot noir at our northern vineyard define this wine’s style, we again picked early (to keep alcohol lower) and used less new oak to highlight fruit characters and push for softer tannin." - Moorilla
