"Chardonnay from the St Matthias Vineyard in the Tamar Valley region. The label advises us to “be immersed in the divine”.

This is headed in a beautiful direction. It’s not quite there – it needs another 12 months in bottle, maybe. Or even just some quality alone time in a decanter. It’s all line and length, in many ways, but honeysuckle, lactose, white peach and shell-like influences give keen glimpses into its delicious future. This is a thing of beauty."

"There is immense beauty here for Chardonnay lovers. The excellent 2015 vintage has produced beautifully composed and layered wines destined to cellar well. As always, our Muse Chardonnay showcases fruit, wild fermentation and oak in harmony with a dazzling backbone. The tension between taut acidity and tannins gives the wine great minerality, kept fresh via the lack of malo-lactic fermentation. Handpicked and brought together from many small batches, the wine displays a slow reveal and a delicious sequence. The bouquet reveals fresh, perfumed and stately aromas of delicate lime, apple blossom, stone fruit, sandalwood and vanilla bean. Ripe fruit, stately oak, elegance and finesse are woven together on the palate before the acid arrives with laser-like precision. Cellar well and drink with food."
