Gary Walsh 96 points!"I tasted this again last night, albeit very briefly and not paying much attention, and from a small pour, but so good was it that I was prompted to publish this note - tasted back in January for The Big Red Wine Book. Now surely a bottle of this and a copy of the BRWB would make for a splendid father's day present..
Crushed berries and cherry, a touch of pepper and tasteful vanilla oak. It's just above medium bodied, but dynamic with great strength and drive through the mouth - delivering a slightly sappy whole bunch punch. The mouthfeel is a high point with superb tannins and balanced clean acidity. Big finish. Long term wine of significant quality. You can drink it now with a decant, no problems, but the best is yet to come the promise of latent earthiness, complexity and regional character waiting patiently in the wings.
