[SOLD-OUT] Matrot Puligny-Montrachet Chalume 2019

JASPER MORRIS 93-95 POINTS!

Vines with an average age of 25 years. Indigenous fermentation in one- to three-year-old oak barrels. Undergoes complete MLF. The wine spent 15 months maturing on lees (no stirring) in oak. Final three months' ageing in stainless steel prior to bottling.
“The village of Puligny is famous for its grands crus. The Chalumeaux terroir is located near Hameau de Blagny, on a hillside facing east and on very rocky marly limestone soil. It has a beautiful aromatic complexity that combines concentration and finesse. Floral aromas and notes of roasted hazelnuts are underlined by an elegant minerality.” - Matrot

"The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Chalumeaux 1er Cru has a refined bouquet of scents of lime flower and dew-dappled Granny Smith apples; a crushed stone scent emerges with aeration. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, and quite racy and spicy. Very good depth and persistence on the finish. This gets better as it goes along. Good potential." - Neal Martin, Vinous

"Mid lemon and lime, offering a slightly fuller nose than the Matrot Puligny Garenne. The news from Elsa is that the lower part of their plot is doing better than the upper in the heat. Delicious floral perfume, roses even, really attractive. Seamless and more sensual than Garenne, with a really delicious long finish." Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy
