Gary Walsh 95 points!'What ho ... this was a bit of a treat on a dark Winter's night. Yes it has lavish toasty coffee and vanilla custard oak but there's an equal measure of rich Cassis and blackberry fruit to match - liquorice and mint playing supporting roles in the dark drama of the nose. On the palate rich and full with creamy dark fruit and brighter raspberry flavours playing alongside cool aniseed, nutty oak and dark chocolate. It has superb smooth fine tannin and for all its weight and intensity it still feels fresh and vigourous - showing no sign of its 15% alcohol. Excellent length of flavour too. A fabulous wine of satisfaction and seduction - possibly even sedition. Easy to drink now but most likely even better in a few years.'
