"Bright cherry and raspberry aromas lifted by cedar and spearmint spice. Younger tannins have led to a more tactile wine that with time should age as gracefully as the Half Acre. Main Ridge Estate is an ideal site for producing high quality cool climate Pinot Noir. Located in a small valley at 230 metres altitude on Arthur’s Seat, our small 7 acre vineyard was planted progressively from 1975. It is one of the oldest and highest vineyards on the Mornington Peninsula. The north-east facing vineyards slope gently, sheltered by stands of mature trees. The rich volcanic soil and mature deep-rooted vines ensure no irrigation is required. Main Ridge Estate wines have always been made exclusively from estate grown fruit." - Main Ridge
"Dark cherry forms the basis of fruit characters, a bit of squeaky kirsch boozey-sweetness-bitterness in there too. It feels potent and stern as a wine, woody tannins in a web over the brooding fruit. Stoic." - Wine Front
