Main Ridge Estate is an ideal site for producing high quality cool climate Pinot Noir. Located in a small valley at 230 metres altitude on Arthur’s Seat, our small 7 acre vineyard was planted progressively from 1975. It is one of the oldest and highest vineyards on the Mornington Peninsula. The north-east facing vineyards slope gently, sheltered by stands of mature trees. The rich volcanic soil and mature deep-rooted vines ensure no irrigation is required. "It’s dry in the palate, chewy and dusty, cedar/clove, pencil shavings, dried leaf and bitter herbs over dark cherry, plum, salted liquorice. The perfume is more about those primary fruits, cherry-berry, boysenberry, kirsch and white pepper. Pleasing intro, the palate a little grippy and firm to get stuck into right now." - Wine Front
