"Classic styling at Main Ridge sees chardonnay naturally ferment, go through full malolactic fermentation and typically spend eleven months on lees in new oak barrels. It’s the Chairman’s Lounge of winemaking. The 2016 growing season was a touch warmer, which seems to have added some amplitude to the wine. Fuller figured chardonnay lovers will be well rewarded with this release.

 

A lavish, generous chardonnay of mellow nature and richness. There’s potent perfume of ripe apple, stone fruit, melon, gingerbread, honey and oatmeal. The palate travels a similar route, with those flavours pulsing with creamy, fresh honey-butter sonar pulses of malo-kissed fruit. Despite all the pumped up character, balance is impeccable. A cool finish with citrus, flinty notes and a sort of citrus-cream is refreshing and readily resets the palate." - Wine Front
