[SOLD-OUT] Main Divide Pinot Noir 2014

"a lively and rich Pinot Noir" - Raymond Chan 17.5+/20 Points!

"Dark, deepish ruby-red colour with light garnet hues on the rim. The nose is light and elegant, with tightly bound aromas of savoury dark-red cherry fruit along with a fine layering of dark and dried herbs forming a tight core. Subtle notes of florals and earth unfold, showing the beginnings of secondary development. Medium-full bodied, the palate has a lively core of concentrated savoury dark-red berry fruit melded with dark and dried herbs and subtle earthy detail. The fruit is sweet and the palate is mouthwatering with fresh, underlying acidity. The wine flows with good energy and drive following a fine-grained, textured line, leading to a lingering finish of savoury red fruits and dried herbs. This is a lively and rich Pinot Noir with savoury dark-red fruit and dried herb and earthy detail on a fine-textured palate. Serve with mushroom risotto, coq au vin and game meat dishes over the next 4 years. Waipara Valley fruit indigenous yeast fermented with 25% whole bunches to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 18 months in 10% new French oak barrels." 17.5+/20 Points
