"I was asked by Noel to make a wine that pushed shiraz to its limit. It was made in 1994, 1995, 1996, poor vintage in 1997 so not made, became overripe in 1998 so not made, and 1999. Alas I then loss access to the fruit which was very special and the search goes on for a new source so we can revive this wine and its thick style."

"Impenetrable deep black colour which goes right to the glass rim. The aroma overwhelms and you can find in it whatever you want but it is not for the gentle at heart. Likewise the palate is explosive and this may be like those with pre war memories of Rutherglen reds now conjure up in their heads. A blockbuster but not unbalanced which explodes across the palate, indeed overwhelms the palate. A true ‘garagiste’ wine that takes what grapes can make to the limit. Very long life ahead. Only 96 cases were made. Score: Uncertain, 18.5/20. Tasted on 28th, February, 2002."
