LUKE LAMBERT IS ONE OF THE YARRA VALLEY'S GREAT WINEMAKING TALENTS. INSPIRED BY HIS EXPERIENCE MAKING WINE IN PIEMONTE, HIS MIND-BLOWING NEBBIOLO HAS THIS YEAR REACHED EVER EXTRAORDINARY HEIGHTS.   

"Lambert believes that "...the shape of a wine should be governed by what soil you’re on, the aspect, the amount of sunshine and rain." In other words, the personality of a wine will be dictated by its “place”. Lambert’s source vineyards (in poor, rocky and elevated pockets of the Yarra Valley) are therefore managed in order to bring out their unique geographic signature in the final wines.

All Luke Lambert wines are handpicked and of single-vineyard origin. They are wildly perfumed with moderate alcohol, fresh acidities, powdery tannins, and limited oak influence. Luke’s methodology includes the belief that "..the best wines have always been made by feel and are always sourced from unique and interesting vineyards that have natural balance and grow grapes full of character..." This comes through strongly in the remarkable complexity and sense of place gained by this wine." - Bibendum

"Here is a Nebbiolo with rare attributes. It provides drinking pleasure right from release (rare for Nebbiolo), but will only develop further with maturation time, as Lambert's wines have proven. It shows all of Nebbiolo's hallmark structure, but with all elements deftly handled. The tannin is powdery, the acidity refreshing. The structure is backed by the most beautiful line of fruit flavour, and it is here in which the wine really sings. It is a fine-boned and delicate wine, but deeply complex in flavour which is delivered on a long palate. A truly great Nebbiolo by a master of the variety." - Wine House
