"This is a step on from the 2008, with additional spice and complex aromatics. It still plays in the lighter strawberry fruit end of the spectrum, some red cherry too " really fresh. "Handpicked, single vineyard Nebbiolo from Heathcote, fermented using wild yeast and bottled without fining or filtration. A very tightly knit wine requiring extended decanter time. Best suited to porcini mushroom risotto.
The Heathcote vineyard's trademark characters of fennel and sour cherry are balanced by prominent acidity and fine tannin, the 09 Nebbiolo will become increasingly floral and show typical tarry notes as the wine develops in bottle."
