“Dark raspberries, cloves, licorice, new leather and menthol literally jump from the glass in the Baudana's 2009 Barolo Cerretta. Here the style is a bit more polished and refined than in the Baudana, but there is plenty of Serralunga volume and breadth. The tannins, acidity and structure are all present, but they are nearly buried by the wine's utterly exquisite fruit. Readers will have a hard time resisting this striking, juicy Barolo from Baudana and the Vajra family..”

"Serralunga d'Alba, from the Cerretta Cru. Serralunga d'Alba, from the single vineyard Baudana. Some years ago Vajra acquired the Luigi Baudana estate, but out of respect of the former owner decided to keep his name on the bottle.
Mid crimson. More perfumed and at the same time more backward on the nose than the Baudana. Iron and orange, tea leaves and cherry. You can immediately see the cru quality. More acidity too and beautifully compact fruit. Muscular tannins and beautifully textured. Loads of tannins, but fine and clinging."
