“Screwcapped for your pleasure. Lovely. The year 2014 was very good in Chablis. White flowers, mint and a sea breeze, clean and inviting, ripe citrus and stonefruits, and that typical crushed rock thing that Chablis often has. Medium bodied, flavoursome and gentle, cool acidity, subtle milkiness to the texture, as well as plenty of flint and crunch on a long fine finish. Ripe lemon in the aftertaste. Terrific. Ticks all the boxes.”

Louis Michel is known as a producer that uses no oak in fermentation or maturation, celebrating purity of fruit and terroir. Known as the Grand Cru of the Premier Crus, wine from Montee de Tonnerre is rich and layered. The site is just located over a small valley, separating it from the Chablis Grand Cru sites. Generosity of palate is a hallmark that characterises this wine, with its minerality, spice and oodles of ripe fruit.
