"Nutty, juicy and dry, and feels pretty convincing in the context of its lightness. It’s a refreshing red. It’s (red) cherried and boysenberries with well-integrated inlays of woodsy herbs. Indeed there’s almost a blood orange character here, of the non-sweet kind. It’s an enjoyable wine (and it benefits greatly from being decanted)." - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
"For the past 10 years or so we have been interested in the idea of ‘climate appropriate’ grape varieties for Australia. While Geelong is still very much a cool climate region, the warming climate creates opportunity so six years ago we planted a hectare of Gamay. The best examples of this wine entice with crunchy red and blue fruits, with aromatic characters reminiscent of forest bushes. It nestles snuggly into a ‘goldilocks zone’ between rich structure and refreshing juiciness.
This is our Second Gamay wine produced from the vineyard at Lethbridge, we were very excited to make it and hope you discover some of the characteristics we described above, but mostly we hope you enjoy drinking it." - Lethbridge
