Tyson Stelzer 95 points! Leonay 2013 hails from the same vineyard as the 2011 and 2012, the highest vineyard in Watervale, planted in the 1950s on a hilltop of thin topsoils over limestone and shale. It's a wine of wonderful stony, chalky mineral texture, lifted by pretty aromas of lemon and lime blossom and pink lady apple. A core of lively lemon and lime zest and red apple fill out a chiselled and structured palate, at once immediately approachable and at the same time confidently enduring. A touch (4g/L) of residual sugar builds texture and longevity rather than sweetness.

Gourmet Traveller 95 points!A great riesling that bears the famous Buring name with pride. It's very fine and powerful, concentrated and long with a pale straw colour and intense lime juice and crushed lime leaf fragrance. It's frisky and bright in the mouth with terrific intensity.
Huon Hooke, Gourmet Traveller Feb/March 2014.
Gary Walsh 94+ points!A more subdued and settled wine with an almost chalky sort of character, lemon and tonic flavour, packed full of minerally goodness and fine through the length of palate. Note a little pithy bitterness on the finish, but it's so long and impressive it does not detract at all. Tangy power and flavoursome goodness in a lithe frame. Tasty even as a young wine, but with its best yet to come. A very strong release.

Ralph Kyte-Powell 94 points!A restrained, closed-up drop in the style that makes Clare riesling Australia's most age-worthy white. Delicate florals, lime zest and minerals meet the nose; the palate is superfine, zippy and lingering.
