Huon Hooke 96 Points!
Huon Hooke 96 Points!"The Leeuwin cabernets are really hitting their stride since the pivotal 2004 vintage. Smoky red and black fruit aromas, hints of undergrowth and fresh earth; soft mellow palate with ample ripe tannins, gently rounded and savoury, with elegance and balance."
Huon Hooke, SMH Good Living, 3rd May 2011
Josh Raynold 92 Points!"Deep ruby-red. Red-and blackcurrant, blood orange and licorice on the nose. Rich but youthfully taut, with deep, incisive red fruit flavors that are slow to unwind. Becomes more perfumed with air and picks up notes of cracked pepper and nutmeg. Finishes with nervy cut and silky, harmonious tannins. This promising wine still needs a little bottle age."
Josh Raynold, International Wine Cellar, July/August 2010
"There's a certain allure with Margaret River cabernet sauvignon, a freshness that stems from a distinct herbal edge. What really defines cabernet, apart from an obvious cassis note, is its beautiful tannin structure that needs time to mellow as is apparent in the '06. There is plenty of spicy plum and dark berry fruit and a whiff of cedar from the seamlessly integrated oak - it is savoury and earthy with cleansing acidity. This is an elegant and beautifully balanced cabernet."
