A Krug vintage champagne must combine all the character of a great year with the Krug style. Each year has its own 'voice', and that of 1990 is one of a great vintage, exuberant, elegant and distinguished.
A bold, golden colour and lively, flowery aromas. In the mouth, it bursts onto the palate. Its delicacy gives it class and distinction, underlined by a superb structure. This is a remarkably fresh wine for its 15 years, rich in flavour, with notes of orange blossom, dried fig, very ripe quince and sweet spices.
Notes sourced from Krug
A great vintage all-round and hence a highly anticipated release. It easily lives up to the expectation. Dramatically dry and rampantly persistent, with bursting flavours of almonds, lemon, yeast, honeysuckle, aldehyde and just-browned toast. It's a substantial wine in all respects, but the elaborate flourish on the finish, and the way it carries on and on, has to be experienced to be believed. Of equal standard to the brilliant 1990 Roederer Cristal.
