Michael Cooper 4 stars!
Michael Cooper 4 stars!"This youthful 2005 is already delicious, with generous cherry and plum flavours, hints of liquorice, and spice, sweet-fruit delights and rounded tannins."
Michael Cooper, NZ Wine Buyers Guide 2008
"The colour is a beautifully bright ruby which is vibrant and alive.
The nose is a melange of red berry fruit, savoury notes and spices with hints of white pepper.
The wine is smooth and round with ripe silky tannins. Amazingly, considering it had no fining. Elegance and finesse is the mainstay of this wine and the pallet shows tastes of Boysenberry, red current and grenades, but intertwined with the taste of dried coriander seed, nutmeg and savoury pancetta.
Koru Pinot Noir has the balance, structure and the cool climate acidity to go accompany great cuisine. This New Zealand red is not trying to be anything other than Pinot Noir and poses an interesting alternative to the best from Bourgogne."
