[SOLD-OUT] Komasa Satsuma Mandarin Japanese Gin 40%

THIS CRAFT GIN IS DISTILLED IN KAGOSHIMA, JAPAN AND USES THE WORLD'S SMALLEST MANDARINS GROWN ON AN ACTIVE VOLCANO AS A BOTANICAL.

"Komasa Gin is the craft gin label proudly presented by Komasa Jyozo, a shochu distillery in Kagoshima, Japan with over 130 years of distilling history. We use our rice shochu as the base for Komasa Gin, to which we add juniper berries and as few other ingredients as possible in order to let the main botanicals shine on their own. Our goal is to utilize and express the natural fragrances and flavors of our quality ingredients to the fullest. With Komasa Gin, we’ve hit upon a revolutionary style of gin that is eminently easy to drink and perfect for everyone.

This botanical gin hails from Kagoshima, Japan, home to a tiny type of local mandarin orange called the Sakurajima komikan. Sakurajima is the name of an active volcano in Kagoshima and is where these oranges grow in its volcanic soils and reach sizes of about 4cm in diameter. Harvesting of these juicy, sweet mandarins signals the start of the cool winter season in Kagoshima.

Each ripe fruit is packed with a mellow fragrance and the thick, sweet taste of citrus. Komasa Sakurajima Komikan Gin is crafted with generous amounts of these fragrant oranges, resulting in a bright, gentle spirit that truly shines with fresh notes of citrus." - Komasa Jyozo
