"Mint, spearmint, red and black fruits and good oak treatment, albeit of the more traditional coconut and vanilla kind. What's most impressive, however, is its shape and texture " clear fresh fruit, almost cool, along with its fine tannins facilitate a silky and fluid progression through the the palate. Excellent length and good flavour " although quite minty. Really good."
Gary Walsh, The Wine Front, Apr 2011

"Our Wild Witch is made using the best possible Shiraz fruit of the Barossa vintage " and only if the quality is truly magical. This means that even in the best vintages, only very small parcels of fruit have what it takes to make 'Wild Witch'. This intensely flavoured black fruit doesn't come from vineyards with resident broom riding vignerons whizzing between their rows, but it does come from vineyards which are equally magical " venerable, mostly dry grown and ultra-low yielding. The potion pressed and fermented from this fruit spends up to two years in 'cauldrons' of the finest French oak where it develops its power and dimension. Then, when its hue is crimson"purple, its perfume of spicy dark fruits, and its palate long, intense and silky - it is ready to 'cast its spell'! A truly magical Barossa shiraz."
